Beijing Jishuitan Hospital, established in 1956, is a class III A general hospital with orthopedics and burn department as key disciplines. It is the Fourth Clinical Medical School of Peking University and the clinical teaching hospital of Tsinghua University. Beijing Institute of orthopedics and trauma was established in 1959 and became Beijing trauma and burn rescue center in 2002. The hospital has four national key clinical specialties: Orthopedics, hand surgery, burn department, and sports medicine; The Department of orthopedics has been ranked first in the national specialist reputation list of Fudan University Hospital Management Institute for 13 consecutive years. In 2016, Beijing Key Laboratory of orthopaedic robot technology was approved as the chairman unit of the National Expert Committee for the clinical application and management of surgical robots and the chairman unit of the Technical Steering Committee of the national orthopaedic surgical robot application center. In 2021, it was approved as Beijing Engineering Research Center of orthopedic surgical robot and Beijing research ward demonstration construction unit. In 2022, it was selected into the reserve of the first batch of national emergency medical rescue base projects to prepare for the construction work.
